This is a late report, but I attended Temple University's graduation ceremony on May 19th of this year. I entered Temple University Beasley School of Law (LL.M) in May 2020, and since I am a working adult, I took one class at a time and successfully completed the credits for graduation in August 2022, but the graduation ceremony is held on May 5 every year. In my case, the graduation ceremony was held in May 2023.
The venue is Hitomi Memorial Auditorium of Showa Women's University. This graduation ceremony includes all undergraduate, graduate, and law school students, so most of the students are very young. There aren't many old men like me, and I felt very fresh from 16 years ago. Since I was bringing my family with me, I arrived just before the opening time, received the regalia I had purchased, and changed clothes. Of course, this was my first time wearing this regalia, so I didn't know how to wear it at first, so I was quite confused. When I put it on, I looked like Harry Potter, which was really embarrassing. Immediately after putting on my regalia, I started a photo session with law school students (I am second from the left in the top row)
After that, we took photos with our classmates, and then the actual graduation ceremony began.
Message from the President of Temple University
Greetings from President Emeritus of Temple University
After this, the awarding of diplomas will begin. Diplomas are awarded in the order of undergraduate, law school, MBA, and doctoral programs. I also received it.
After the diploma was awarded, it was finally time for the hat-off that I had heard about. I was worried about my hat after throwing it so I couldn't throw it too high lol
Afterwards, I got together with my classmates and took another photo, and for some reason I took off my hat again lol. I was also able to take a photo with a law school professor.
My family was also in attendance, but they seemed overwhelmed by the American atmosphere. It was unusually cold inside the venue for the American event, so the child ended up catching a cold. I am sorry. . . I've been causing trouble for my family for the past three years, so I took them with me, but I don't know if it was a good thing or a bad thing. In any case, I am glad that I was able to successfully complete the graduation ceremony as the culmination of three years.
After that, I studied hard for the California bar exam and traveled to California in July to take the exam. The results will be announced on November 9th. I will report again.
